Data from the Bureau of Justice Statistics indicates that lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) youth in juvenile correctional facilities are almost twice as likely to experience sexual victimization as their heterosexual counterparts. Furthermore, research shows that many of the facilities which ORR contracts to provide care for unaccompanied minors are located in states without adequate protections for LGBT youth.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re talking about protecting kids who are being specifically targeted because of their sexual orientation or gender identity,\u201d Grijalva continued. \u201cLGBT youths must receive affirming and culturally competent care. They deserve the dignity of housing assignments consistent with their gender identity, and adequate preventative and response measures to keep them safe from harm. According to cybersecurity experts, the combination of comparably lower spending on cybersecurity than other industries and the extremely valuable data possessed by hospitals and healthcare networks makes the healthcare industry a more attractive target for cybercrime.\n\u00a0\nHospitals already function under extremely tight budgetary constraints. The need to transfer technology infrastructure is made more difficult by a limited number of qualified security professionals within or entering healthcare organizations.
