Today\u2019s update to the disaster relief package provides essential aid for Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and communities devastated by the still-burning California wildfires,\u201d said Congresswoman Adams. \u201cI\u2019m pleased that this bill includes an additional $1 billion increase over the Administration\u2019s request for the disaster relief fund but I remain concerned that much of the aid allotted for Puerto Rico\u2019s recovery comes in the form of a loan while aid for other states doesn\u2019t require repayment. Much more must still be done to assist all of these communities during the long process of recovery and rebuilding but this package is a first step.
