Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) today announced the deadline for Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County high school students to apply to be one of her nominees to the United States' Military Service Academies is Friday, November 3, 2023. Adams' office is currently accepting applications from high school students seeking nomination for appointment to the United States Air Force, Naval, Military and Merchant Marine Academies.\n\n\"I am honored to nominate our best and brightest students to begin their career in public service. This is a great opportunity to answer the call to serve your country and our community, and I look forward to considering many exceptional students this year,\" said Rep. Adams.\n\nAdditionally, the Office of Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. will host a 12th Congressional District Military Service Academy Day on Saturday, October 14th at 10:00 AM at Mallard Creek High School in an \u201copen house\u201d format.\n\nStudents, parents, and teachers are encouraged to attend to receive a comprehensive overview of the US Service Academies and learn how high school students can be nominated to attend the academies on a full scholarship.\n\nThe program will feature representatives from Military Service Academy admissions staff as well as Congresswoman Adams. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination. Students seeking a nomination can apply through their U.S. House Representative, U.S. Senators and the Vice President of the United States.\n\nQualifying candidates will have the opportunity to receive a full scholarship to attend one of the nation's five prestigious service academies. After graduating, candidates are expected to complete a five-year military service requirement as commissioned officers. Candidates for Rep.
