Adams, Ph.D. (NC-12) and Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) introduced a resolution to observe last week\u2019s 134th anniversary of the 1890 Land Grant Universities on August 30, 2024.\n\n\"1890s are a cornerstone of their communities and an integral part of the land grant system and of higher education in this country,\u201d said Congresswoman Adams. \u201cFor 134 years, these 19 universities have contributed in innumerable ways to our students, our agricultural sector, and society at large\u2014and this resolution enumerates a small sample of their successes over the past year alone. As a twice-over 1890 graduate\u2014Aggie pride! \u2014 I am thrilled to introduce this resolution with Rep. Turner and to continue being a champion for 1890s as we deliberate on the Farm Bill.\u201d\n\n\u201cI was proud to work with Central State University in 2014 to pass legislation that rightfully designated CSU as an 1890 land grant institution.
