Once operational, the center will provide training and certification programs in areas such as welding, mechatronics, aircraft maintenance, power generation system maintenance, and machine tool technology.\n\nApproximately 150 students are expected to benefit from workforce training opportunities supported through the project.\n\n\u201cNorth Alabama continues to experience strong economic growth, particularly in industries like aerospace, automotive, and advanced manufacturing,\u201d said Congressman Aderholt. \u201cThis investment will help ensure our local workforce has the skills needed to fill these good-paying jobs and support continued economic development across our region.\u201d\n\nThe ARC grant will be matched by $1 million in local funding, bringing the total project investment to $2 million.\n\nCongressman Aderholt emphasized the importance of the Appalachian Regional Commission, which is funded by Congress to support economic development in Appalachian communities.\n\n\u201cARC is an important partnership between the federal government, states, and local communities, and it is funded by Congress to help strengthen economic opportunity across Appalachia,\u201d Aderholt said. \u201cI strongly support these types of investments because they help build a skilled workforce, attract employers, and create long-term prosperity for our communities.\u201d\n\nLauderdale County has experienced significant growth in recent years, creating strong demand for skilled workers in local industries.
