This is companion legislation to S. 13, introduced by Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa. This bill would prohibit federal funding from going to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, or to any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, or clinics. Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, receives over $670 million in taxpayer funding annually, according to the 2021-2022 Planned Parenthood Annual Report.\n\n\u201cThis bill reflects the will of the American people,\u201d said Congressman Aderholt. \u201cIt is important that funding intended to support the health, safety, and well-being of women is not instead funding the killing of unborn babies or the pursuit of a radical agenda.\u201d\n\n\u201cThis bill additionally ensures that the funding is redirected back to important health services for women such as cancer screenings, prenatal and postnatal care, immunizations, and other eligible services.\n\n\u201cThe radical Left, led by the Biden Administration, cannot keep ignoring the sanctity of life and crusading against our most vulnerable: the unborn. I am proud to join my colleagues in protecting the right to life and in stopping the use of federal tax dollars in funding such heinous organizations.\u201d\n\n\u201cIn this year\u2019s Labor, Health & Human Services, and Education appropriations bill, I have included a provision which prohibits taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood in annual appropriations funding. The Protect Funding for Women\u2019s Health Care Act goes a step further to ensure that mandatory spending is protected as well.\u201d\n\nThis legislation is supported by Susan B.
