President Carter was a devoted father, loving husband, and decorated patriot.\n\n\u201cGrowing up on a peanut farm in Central Georgia, President Carter learned the value of an honest day\u2019s work at an early age. His sense of duty led him to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, where he began a lifetime of public service. He was also a champion of philanthropic efforts in the decades following his presidency.
