Mark Amodei (R-NV-02) along with U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement celebrating the Federal Transit Administration\u2019s (FTA) release of $40.4 million in a Capital Investment Grant (CIG) to fund the Washoe Regional Transportation Commission\u2019s (RTC) Reno Virginia Street BRT Extension Project. The project, which began this past April, will upgrade aging utilities infrastructure along Virginia Street and extend Reno\u2019s existing bus rapid transit service to link the University of Nevada, Reno\u2019s campus with Reno\u2019s Midtown District.\n\n\u201cThe Reno Virginia Street BRT Extension Project has already transformed Midtown, and we\u2019re pleased the Department of Transportation has released the over $40 million in grant funding needed to complete this project. With these funds in hand, RTC Washoe can take the next steps to extend public transit services to the University, improve pedestrian safety and upgrade infrastructure vital to Midtown\u2019s growing economy.
