He met with the King and Her Majesty, Queen Camilla, for a private audience, before leading them into the House Chamber for the King to deliver his historic address to a Joint Meeting of the Congress.\n\nAlongside the other co-chairs of the Congressional UK Caucus, Amo also introduced a resolution recognizing the enduring special relationship between the United States and United Kingdom. As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of independence from the United Kingdom, the bipartisan resolution celebrates the long history of friendly relations between the two nations grounded in shared democratic values and mutual security.\n\n\u201cAs Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional United Kingdom Caucus, I was honored to welcome His Majesty, King Charles III to the United States,\u201d said Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01). \u201cRhode Island was the first colony to declare independence from the British crown 250 years ago.
