Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) today issued a statement regarding his vote on H.Res. 326; legislation that intentionally distorts the position of Israel and the proper role of Congress:\nToday I voted no on H.Res. 326, which pretends to show support for a two-state solution but is really a one-sided criticism of Israel. While it makes vague allusions to Palestinian actions that are counter-productive to peaceful negotiations, it specifically highlights settlements and annexation on the part of Israel. It also states that only' a two-state solution can ensure Israel's survival and fulfill Palestinian aspirations. That is an inappropriate demand for the U.S. Congress to make, which is not a party to the conflict.\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://bacon.house.gov/media/press-releases/bacon-calls-out-partisan-political-effort-distort-position-israel"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 3.1535648740828037, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
