Don Bacon (NE-02) today announced the winning artists from Nebraska\u2019s 2ndCongressional District for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition.Bacon served as national co-chair for this year\u2019s competition.\n\nJudging was conducted by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association. The guest speakers for the event were Dr.Deborah BowersKippley, Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder of the Papillion La VistaArts Network, and Jeremy Caniglia, an art teacher at Omaha Creighton Prep High School whose work has been displayed at the JoslynArtMuseum and Iowa State University, as well as in the Washington Post and on CNN.\n\n\u201cOur competition featured a variety of styles and I am thrilled we are able to showcase the work of these students,\" said Rep. Bacon.\u201cCongratulations to this year\u2019s winners. I appreciate their participation and I thank them for sharing their artwork with the community.\u201d\n\nThe top three pieces of artwork will be featured on Lamar billboards at various places in Omaha for the month of May. Locations include I-80 and 84thStreet and the southwest corner of 44thand Dodge; locations will be on a rotating basis.\n\nThe first-place artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and the runners-up will be displayed in Rep. Bacon\u2019s Washington,D.C.and Omaha offices.
