These include initiatives to unleash affordable, reliable American energy, strengthen U.S. national security and bring down costs for consumers. Congressman Randy Weber (TX-14) will serve as vice-chair.

“We are at an inflection point as a nation,” said Balderson. “Will we pursue energy dominance and restore the United States’ global leadership, or will we undermine our energy sector and empower our adversaries? For House Republicans, the choice is clear.

“Ohioans have seen firsthand how innovation in American energy creates good-paying jobs and revitalizes communities. Our nation is blessed with abundant natural resources to drive future growth and export clean, reliable energy to our allies abroad. The federal government must work alongside energy producers to develop policy solutions that meet our nation’s needs and bolster American energy security.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve as Chairman of the House Energy Action Team. I look forward to working with Chairman Pfluger, Congressman Weber, the Trump Administration, and my Republican colleagues to deliver energy solutions that benefit American families and businesses.”

“I'm pleased to announce Representative Troy Balderson as the new House Energy Action Team (HEAT) Chairman,” said RSC Chairman-elect Pfluger. “His extensive experience, district production, and deep understanding of the importance of America's energy sector make him the ideal choice to lead HEAT. Rep. Balderson has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing strong energy policies that benefit American workers and strengthen our national security. I look forward to working with him to deliver on President Trump’s agenda and restore American energy dominance.”

“I’m proud to serve as Vice Chair of HEAT alongside Rep. Balderson as Chair," said Vice Chair-Elect Weber. “Our nation faces many challenges, and one of the most critical is focusing on our greatest asset—energy. Representing the energy capital of the world in Southeast Texas, I am committed to advancing policies that support and strengthen our energy industry, rather than undermining it.”

“I’m proud to congratulate Rep. Troy Balderson on becoming the next HEAT chairman,” said Speaker Mike Johnson. “His deep understanding of energy policy and his commitment to restoring America’s energy dominance will be invaluable as HEAT works to advance policies that enhance our energy independence, lower costs for American families, and bolster our national security. We know HEAT is in good hands under Rep. Balderson’s leadership as we prioritize America-first energy solutions.”

“As a former leader and founder of HEAT, I’d like to congratulate Rep. Troy Balderson on becoming the new HEAT chair,” said Majority Leader Steve Scalise. “Americans are paying the price for President Biden’s war on American energy with rising costs at the gas station, in the grocery store, and in utility bills taking more money out of people’s pockets than they can afford. With President Trump returning to the White House and Republican majorities in the Senate and the House, the time to end this historic energy crisis and lower costs for hardworking taxpayers and families is now. HEAT plays an important role in promoting American energy independence and security. Troy’s strong leadership will be vital to HEAT’s mission to promote great conservative energy policies, restore American energy dominance and independence, bring jobs back to America, and lower costs for all Americans.”

“The House Energy Action Team is the leading force behind House Republicans’ work to combat the Democrats’ anti-American energy agenda, and there is no one better qualified to lead that effort than Chairman Balderson,” said Majority Whip Tom Emmer. “I look forward to working alongside him and all HEAT members as we restore American energy dominance and lower costs for families.”

Balderson currently serves on the Energy, Climate, & Grid Security Subcommittee and the Environment, Manufacturing, & Critical Materials Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee. His district encompasses portions of the Utica and Marcellus Shale formations in the Appalachian Basin, which is the largest natural gas-producing region in the United States.

###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:07:19Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://balderson.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=2744
