This is clearly not about cost-cutting, as Republicans just voted for huge tax cuts for billionaires. It\u2019s about prioritizing the ultra-rich and leaving rural communities vulnerable.\u201d\n\nThese cuts would continue the reckless agenda started by Elon Musk and weaken the United States\u2019 power around the world. This terrible bill comes on the heels of Republicans' cuts to Medicaid and food assistance\u2014all to fund tax cuts for billionaires.\n\nThis Republican package hurts hardworking American families by:\n\nHarming millions of preschool-age kids (and their families) that currently benefit from PBS Kids children\u2019s educational programs, such as Sesame Street or Daniel Tiger\u2019s Neighborhood, that improve children\u2019s literacy and math skills.\n\nTerminating $1.1 billion in funding for public television and public radio, including funding that is allocated directly to more than 1,500 locally-owned public television or public radio stations.\n\nVermont stations received more than $2 million from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in Fiscal Year 2024.\n\nHurting rural communities, as locally-owned public television stations and public radio stations are often the only trusted and reliable news source available, as well as the only coverage of local high school sports.\n\nThreatening public safety and disaster response, as public television and public radio provide emergency alerts even when other communications systems go down.\n\nCutting global health programs and undermining America\u2019s global leadership and security.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T14:40:33Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://balint.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=584"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.7436658963561058, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
