McGuire, 202-538-2386 (mobile)\n\nKevin.McGuire@mail.house.gov\n\nWASHINGTON \u2013 Congresswoman Nanette Barrag\u00e1n (CA-44) released the following statement after yesterday\u2019s Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports study released by the Department of Energy, that found the approval of additional LNG exports will raise domestic gas prices, worsen the climate crisis, and harm environmental justice communities.\n\n\u201cThe Department of Energy\u2019s study confirms what frontline communities have long known: increasing LNG exports worsens pollution, drives up domestic energy costs, and accelerates the climate crisis,\u201d said Rep. Barrag\u00e1n. \u201cThese impacts disproportionately harm environmental justice communities, who already suffer from cumulative pollution and health inequities. I urge the Administration to deny the remaining LNG export applications to protect vulnerable communities from further harm.\u201d\n\n###\n\nCongressmember Nanette Barrag\u00e1n represents California\u2019s 44th District.
