The resolution passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 214-208.\n\nAfter the vote, Barrett released the following statement:\n\n\u201cMy position hasn\u2019t changed. Only Congress has the authority to authorize military action in Iran. I remain ready to work with anyone to eliminate hostile threats to our nation without getting us into another endless war.\u201d\n\nThis is the third resolution Barrett has supported this year (H.Con.Res. 86 and H.Con.Res. 75). He is also the first and only member of Congress to introduce an Authorization for Use of Military Force (H.J.Res. 176) for the conflict in Iran.
