It would also very likely result in a larger conflict. The Iranian regime is a leading state sponsor of terrorism, has attacked U.S. service members in the past, and has been quite clear about its intentions toward the U.S. and Israel. If Iran were to possess nuclear weapons, it would be naive to believe they would not use them. Israel is well within its rights to take those threats seriously.\n\nBut war carries an enormous cost in lives lost, families shattered, and consequences we can\u2019t always predict or control. Diplomacy isn\u2019t weakness; it\u2019s the hard work of trying to prevent catastrophe.
