Thompson (D-MS) announced two federal grants awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation\u2019s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support critical airport infrastructure improvements in Mississippi\u2019s Second Congressional District.\n\nThe City of Kosciusko has been awarded $600,000 under the FY25 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to enhance operations at the Kosciusko-Attala County Airport (OSX). The funding will support multiple infrastructure projects, including:\n\nReconstructing 200 feet of existing hangar access taxilane pavement that has reached the end of its useful life;\n\nConstructing a new 2,500 square foot sponsor-owned hangar for aircraft storage, helping the airport generate revenue and remain self-sustaining;\n\nExtending the existing hangar access taxilane an additional 35 feet to provide access to a non-exclusive hangar development area, bringing the airport into compliance with current FAA standards.\n\nAdditionally, the City of Winona and Montgomery County will receive $139,320 for improvements at the Winona-Montgomery County Airport (5A6).
