Today, Rep. Thompson voted to pass a critical, bipartisan bill to deliver further relief for Mississippi's small businesses. H.R. 7010, the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act solves urgent issues with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) facing small business owners in Mississippi's Second Congressional District and across the country who are struggling the most as a result of the coronavirus.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe bipartisan PPP Flexibility Act will increase flexibility and access to PPP loans including by:\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAllowing forgiveness for expenses beyond the 8-week covered period to 24 weeks and extending the rehiring deadline;\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIncreasing the current limitation on nonpayroll expenses (such as rent, utility payments and mortgage interest) for loan forgiveness from 25 to 40 percent;\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExtending the programfrom June 30 to December 31;\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tExtending loan terms from two to five years; and\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEnsuring full access to payroll tax deferment for businesses that take PPP loans.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://benniethompson.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-thompson-takes-action-help-mississippi-s-workers-and-small"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8341071661561728, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
