Thompson (D-MS) announced winners of the 2020 Second Congressional \"Artistic Discovery\" Virtual Art Competition. There were 2 schools that participated and 48 pieces of artwork. This year's 1st Place winner is Moriah Roland of Power APAC located in Jackson, Mississippi. I would like to extend my congratulations to Moriah and the Power APAC's Art Program for placing number 1 in this year's competition.\n\nThe 1st Place winner along with one other person may be eligible to receive round trip accommodations to Washington D. C. at a date to be determined to compete with the other Congressional Art Competition winners. In addition, her entry will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel for the period of one year.\n\nThe other winners are as follows:\n\n2nd Place- Trey Peters \u2013 Riverside High School\n\n3rd Place- Moriah Roland \u2013 Power APAC\n\nHonorable Mentions:\n\nLiz Hawkins \u2013 Power APAC\n\nSarah Demus \u2013 Power APAC\n\nEthan McKnight \u2013 Riverside High School\n\nAlyssa Rochell \u2013 Riverside High School\n\nSummer Griffin \u2013 Power APAC\n\nAlso, as a Congressional Art Competition District First Place winner, Moriah may be eligible to receive a $3,000 per year scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), should she apply and be accepted for enrollment.
