Jack Bergman, joined by his Republican colleagues in the Michigan congressional delegation, sent a letter to Governor Whitmer and Attorney General Nessel calling for the State of Michigan to join the legal action against the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services\u2019 vaccine mandate for health workers. So far, 24 states have joined lawsuits against this mandate. These suits have so far resulted in a federal court issuing a preliminary injunction, temporarily halting the mandate from going into effect nationwide.\n\nRep. Jack Bergman stated: \u201cFor weeks I have heard from health workers, hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other providers from across Michigan\u2019s First District expressing their concerns with the CMS vaccine mandate. This rule, which was put in place without Congressional approval, will only worsen the ongoing healthcare workforce shortages \u2013 forcing many providers to cut their operating hours, reduce the number of services offered, or even close their doors entirely. Bergman is also a cosponsor of H.R. 5811, the No Vaccine Mandate Act, which would prevent the Biden Administration from using any funds appropriated by Congress to carry out any rules requiring a COVID-19 vaccination.
