Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) congratulated 15 college and university students from throughout Georgia\u2019s Second Congressional District who were recently awarded prestigious federal scholarships for international studies. The students were awarded either the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship or the John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families by the office of the U.S. Department of State.\n\n\u201cI would like to congratulate these accomplished and deserving students. Through these scholarships, they will experience diverse communities and cultures, form new relationships, and gain a broader perspective that will enhance their education,\u201d said Congressman Bishop. \u201cThey will also serve as our cultural ambassadors of our country, sharing our ideals, values, and interests. Programs like this are vital to both the quality of our education and our country\u2019s leadership in the world.\u201d\n\nSecond Congressional District awardees hail from Albany, Columbus, Cusseta, Fort Valley, Macon, Thomasville, and Warner Robins.\n\nLauren Beamon of Wesleyan College will study in Ireland\n\nAdam Cobis-Ribeiro of Columbus State University will study in Japan\n\nEthan Dillinger of Columbus State University will study in South Korea\n\nTyc\u2019Lyn Gilbert of the University of West Georgia will study in Morocco\n\nUnya Hall of Albany State University will study in France and the Netherlands\n\nElaysha Henley of Valdosta State University will study in the United Kingdom\n\nNyiah Kelley of Mercer University will study virtually in Morocco\n\nCharmaneise Laster of Albany State University will study in France\n\nKimberly Lopez of Mercer University will study in Spain\n\nZunaira Naeem of Albany State University will study in the United Kingdom, France, and Italy\n\nChardai Paytee of Valdosta State University will study in Spain\n\nStephanie Pierson of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will study in Spain\n\nKejuan Stewart of Albany State University will study in Cambodia\n\nDarius Thompson of Albany State University will study in Cambodia\n\nJaiden Williams of Fort Valley State University will study in France\n\nThe U.S. Department of State\u2019s Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for undergraduate child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Developed under the framework of the State Department\u2019s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, the John S.
