What four-year-old, three-year-old, two-year-old, or infant is making this perilous journey on their own? They were brought here. They were raised here. Many of these young people \u2026 have had amazing records of success. And, they took the United States government and its president at his word, and came forward and took a little bit of a risk because they wanted to be part of the fabric of this country,\u201d\u00a0Blumenauer said.\n\u201c\u2026 I think it would be a tragedy if we were to punish people who took the president at his word, who put confidence in this Congress to unwind this unfortunate situation. I think it\u2019s important that all of us add our voices, that we connect with the people at home who are desperate and apprehensive and vulnerable, and make sure the American public knows what\u2019s at stake.
