Some big wins for the Third District are in the House Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill. I will continue to work hard on behalf of the American people I represent.”

Background:

This week, the House debated H.R. 4664, the Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2024. Included in this bill are 9 of Congresswoman Boebert’s legislative priorities and two of her amendments.

In the 118th Congress, Congresswoman Boebert has been an extremely effective legislator, focusing on the needs of Colorado’s Third Congressional District and delivering numerous legislative victories. Specifically, five of the Congresswoman’s bills, 55 of her amendments, and 45 of her appropriations requests have passed the House. She has also passed seven bills through the House Committee on Natural Resources and the House Committee on Administration. In addition, the Congresswoman has secured $19.7 million for 10 important water and infrastructure projects in the Third District through Community Project Funding requests that are included in House Appropriations bills.

Here are the two amendments of Congresswoman Boebert that passed the House:

Boebert Amendment 40 - Prohibits the use of funds made available by this Act to be used to provide financial assistance to Sanctuary Cities. Sanctuary city policies directly violate the Rule of Law outlined in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which grants Congress jurisdiction over immigration matters. A nation of laws must prioritize the enforcement of established laws rather than seeking ways to circumvent them. Sanctuary cities disregard federal statutes by harboring illegal immigrants, including violent criminals. The proposed amendment aims to restrict the use of funds from the Act in contravention of section 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, prohibiting sanctuary policies obstructing law enforcement's sharing of immigration status information.

Boebert Amendment 41 - Prohibits performance awards or bonuses for senior executive service employees at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Joe Biden has weaponized the IRS against the American people. The IRS under Biden has received $80 billion to build an army of 87,000 armed IRS agents for audits and enforcement and have even gone as far as monitoring bank accounts for transactions over $600. The IRS has deviated from its mission to serve taxpayers and has instead become a tool for targeting middle and low-income families and small businesses with audits and draconian enforcement activities.

Appropriations Victories:

Congresswoman Lauren Boebert submitted 9 appropriations requests that were included in the base bill. Read the full letter from Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee Chairman Steve Womack to Congresswoman Boebert listing these priorities HERE.

Congresswoman Boebert’s appropriations requests found in the base bill include:

A $1 billion cut for the Internal Revenue Service.

Prohibits funding of raises, bonuses, or promotions until the Secretary of the Treasury produces a COVID-19 National Emergency expenditure report.

Report language regarding Government-Wide (Title VII) provision prohibiting Government from labelling speech as misinformation.

Bill language repealing the Death with Dignity Act and prohibiting physician-assisted suicide in the District of Columbia.

Bill language protecting Americans from government discrimination based on their belief in natural marriage.

Bill language regarding Government-Wide (Title VII) provision prohibiting funding of Critical Race Theory.

Bill language prohibiting the use of funds to carry out any program, project, or activity that promotes or advances Critical Race Theory or any concept associated with Critical Race Theory.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T01:01:09Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://boebert.house.gov/FSGG
