This bill also included five of Congresswoman Boebert\u2019s amendments that passed the House with unanimous, bipartisan support, redirecting an additional $10 million to veterans and their programs.\n\nThis week, Rep. Boebert also voted in support of H.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, and H.R. 6047, the Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act of 2026.\n\n\u201cOur veterans deserve our unwavering support,\u201d said Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO-04). \u201cI was proud to vote in favor of the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, support the Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act of 2026, vote to fully fund the VA which included my amendments to that deliver an additional $10 million for veterans across America.\u201d\n\nBackground: Last week, the House passed H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2027 with Congresswoman Lauren Boebert's support by a bipartisan vote.\n\nCongresswoman Boebert passed five amendments to this bill with unanimous bipartisan support through the House of Representatives to improve veterans\u2019 benefits and services as part of the bipartisan en bloc amendment package.\n\nCongresswoman Boebert\u2019s amendments that passed the House include the following:\n\nBoebert Amendment No. 4: Redirects $2 million to the Board of Veterans Appeals to help reduce its backlog so that veteran claims can be adjudicated in a timely manner.\n\nBoebert Amendment No. 5: Redirects $2 million to provide additional resources for medical and prosthetic research to ensure our veterans receive cutting-edge medical care from the VA.\n\nBoebert Amendment No. 6: Redirects $2 million to provide additional funding for the construction of new state-extended care facilities.\n\nBoebert Amendment No. 7: Redirects $2 million to fund grants for the construction of veteran\u2019s cemetery programs to assist state and tribal governments in providing burial benefits for veterans in rural areas lacking a VA national cemetery.\n\nBoebert Amendment No. 8: Redirects $2 million to the Office of the Inspector General to combat waste, fraud, and abuse.\n\nRep. Boebert also voted in support of two additional key veterans measures that passed the House of Representatives this week:\n\nH.R. 1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, which safeguards veterans\u2019 constitutional rights by prohibiting the VA from automatically reporting veterans to the national firearms background check system (NICS) simply for having a fiduciary assigned to help manage their benefits.
