The NDAA that passed the House also included three of Congresswoman Boebert\u2019s bipartisan amendments. Her first amendment added her Pueblo Jobs Act to the NDAA. Her second amendment protected our service members\u2019 children by prohibiting pornographic and radical gender ideology books in on-base school libraries. Finally, her third amendment fought back against Chinese Communist Party propaganda by requiring the DoD to report on institutions of higher education that have received DoD funding and hosted a Confucius Institute.\n\nCongresswoman Lauren Boebert (CO-03) said, \u201cIt is Congress\u2019s job to ensure that our nation\u2019s most precious resource, its sons and daughters, mothers and fathers who answered the call to serve in uniform have the best chance to come home to their families and have the necessary resources to accomplish their missions. I look forward to my bipartisan bill being signed into law that will helping facilitate job growth and economic development while investing in Pueblo\u2019s future.\u201d\n\nBackground:\n\nCongresswoman Boebert voted for the Fiscal Year 2024 NDAA, and it passed the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 219-210.\n\nThe FY24 NDAA contains enormous wins for national security and military families. This bill takes an important step toward returning the Department of Defense to its fundamental mission, strengthening military readiness, improving the lethality of our armed forces, and providing crucial support to our men and women in uniform including:\n\nThe largest basic pay increase in more than 20 years\u20145.2 percent.\n\nExtends recruitment and retention bonuses.\n\nAuthorizes over $240 million to reduce out-of-pocket housing costs.\n\nExpands reimbursement eligibility for military spouses on business costs and relicensing when transferring locations.\n\nReduces DoD childcare fees for military families.\n\nAuthorizes $113 billion over the budget request for new military childcare centers and authorizes over $280 million to build new schools for military children.\n\nEstablishes a pathway for the return of service members discharged under tyrannical vaccine mandates.\n\nCounters aggression from the Chinese Communist Party.\n\nInvokes oversight at the Pentagon by requiring the DoD Inspector General to conduct a full audit of the price and cost data for major acquisition programs.\n\nEstablishes an Inspector General for Ukraine tasked with auditing all aid provided by the United States.\n\nDevelops advanced radar systems to track high-altitude balloons and missiles\n\nFully funds the modernization of our nuclear triad.\n\nEstablishes a Space National Guard.\n\nProhibits the DoD from funding abortions via reimbursements for time off, lodging, and travel expenses.\n\nProhibits taxpayer funding for \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d surgeries and gender hormone treatments.\n\nProhibits taxpayer funding for drag shows.\n\nProhibits taxpayer funds going towards the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and prohibits funds towards any advisory committee dealing with CRT.\n\nAbolishes diversity, equity, and inclusion programs at the Department of Defense.\n\nProhibits the DoD from carrying out the Biden administration\u2019s climate change executive orders.\n\nIncludes a Parents\u2019 Bill of Rights for servicemembers to ensure military parents\u2019 right to review curriculum materials, meet with teachers, and provide consent before any medical exams or screenings at school.\n\nCongresswoman Boebert spoke about the successful policies included in the NDAA:\n\nCongresswoman Boebert also spoke at a press conference about the NDAA:\n\nAdditionally, Congresswoman Boebert passed three amendments to the FY24 NDAA with bipartisan support.\n\nCongresswoman Boebert\u2019s Pueblo Jobs Act passed via a unanimous, bipartisan voice vote as an amendment to the bill which will support at least 1,000 jobs in Pueblo as the Pueblo Chemical Depot finishes its closure process. Her amendment passed via a unanimous, bipartisan voice vote.\n\nFinally, Congresswoman Boebert also passed an amendment to prohibit Department of Defense Education Activity schools from purchasing and having pornographic and radical gender ideology books in their libraries.
