[07/29/21] \u2013Today Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) announced that nine Community Projects she selected passed the House, totaling $8,530,375 of targeted support for NW Oregon.\n\nThe House-passed legislation includes projects in seven appropriations bills: Labor-HHS-Education; Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA; Energy and Water Development; Financial Services and General Government; Interior-Environment; Military Construction and Veterans Affairs; and Transportation-HUD. The underlying bill is H.R. 4502, the FY 2022 Seven-Bill Appropriations Minibus. The appropriations bills will now move to the Senate.\n\n\"I look forward to delivering federal resources to these community-driven projects to help the people of Northwest Oregon, support our economic recovery, and promote equity,\" said Congresswoman Bonamici. \"These projects will create tremendous opportunities for our community, and I will continue to do all I can to advocate for the Senate to pass this needed funding.\"\n\nThe nine projects are:\n\nAstoria Pre-Disaster Landslide Storm Drainage Project\n\nCity of Astoria\n\n$676,875\n\nBeaverton Non-Profit Incubator Development Project\n\nCity of Beaverton\n\n$500,000\n\nBehavioral Health Resource Center Plaza\n\nMultnomah County\n\n$1,335,000\n\nCardiac Monitor/Defibrillator Project\n\nBanks Fire District #13\n\n$93,500\n\nConstruction Trades Expansion\n\nWorkSystems, Inc.\n\n$1,000,000\n\nThe Japan Institute Building Renovation Project\n\nPortland Japanese Garden\n\n$1,750,000\n\nColumbia County Small Business Resource Center\n\nColumbia County Economic Team\n\n$175,000\n\nVirginia Garcia Newberg Clinic Expansion\n\nVirginia Garcia Memorial Health Center\n\n$2,000,000\n\nWater Supply System Construction\n\nCity of Hillsboro\n\n$1,000,000\n\nUnder the rules of the House Appropriations Committee, Members of Congress each submitted up to ten Community Project Funding requests for consideration during the fiscal year 2022 appropriations legislative process. The reformed and transparent Community Project Funding process allows Members of Congress to advocate for specific community financial support in a local, highly competitive process.
