It is, Southern Illinois: The Place I Call Home. As you know, the 12th Congressional District of Illinois is a unique part of America filled with memorable places, a diverse and hardworking workforce and families who take great pride in their heritage. I look forward to seeing this years submissions and learning why these young artists are proud to call Southern Illinois their home.\nPlease watchthis videoto watch a preview of where the winning entry will be placed in the United States Capitol!\nCongressional Art Competition Rules and Regulations:\nAll artwork must be two-dimensional. Each framed artwork can be no larger than 28 inches long, 28 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Artwork should not weigh more than 15 pounds.  \nAccepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:\nPaintings: Oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.\nDrawings: Colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal\nCollages: Must be two dimensional\nPrints: Lithographs, silkscreen, block prints\nMixed Media: Use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolors, and computer-generated art photographs.\n \n\t\tEach entry must be original in concept, design and execution and may not violate U.S. copyright laws.\n\t\n\t\n\t\tWork must be in the original medium (not a scanned reproduction of a painting or drawing).\n\t\n\t\n\t\tA typed copy of the Student Information and Release Form signed by the teacher, a parent or guardian and the student must be securely attached to the back of the artwork to certify the originality of the piece.\n\t\n\t\n\t\tPlease retain a copy for your records.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://bost.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/find-out-more-about-2016-congressional-art-contest-here"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.6221610605716705, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
