However, last nights compromise on a multi-year budget package is one of the best examples of bipartisan progress I have seen in the past 10 months. As I continue to evaluate the final package, I applaud those on both sides of the aisle who came together to achieve progress on these important issues.\nThe deal ensures equal increases in funding defense and non-defense priorities, extends the solvency of Social Security Disability Insurance, and affirms that the full faith and credit of the United States is non-negotiable with the inclusion of a clean debt limit suspension. I am also very pleased to see the deal protects millions of seniors from a significant increase in their Medicare Part B premiums and deductibles next year.\nAlthough I am still evaluating the specifics of the 144-page deal, it is encouraging to see my colleagues put people before politics.
