Rep. Bresnahan strongly advocated for and worked to include the fund as a central component of the Working Families Tax Cuts package.\n\n\u201cThis $193 million investment is a major win for Pennsylvania\u2019s rural communities,\u201d said Rep. Bresnahan. \u201cFrom the start, I pushed to guarantee the Rural Health Transformation Fund was included, because I knew how critical these resources would be for our hospital providers and patients. This funding will make a real difference for families across the Commonwealth.\u201d\n\nEarlier this month, Rep. Bresnahan hosted Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz in Scranton for a healthcare roundtable with hospital executives, providers, and community leaders from Northeastern Pennsylvania. During the visit, participants discussed workforce shortages access to care challenges and the financial pressures facing rural and community hospitals.\n\n\u201cWhen Administrator Oz came to Northeastern Pennsylvania, he heard directly from the people on the front lines of our healthcare system,\u201d continued Bresnahan. \u201cThose conversations helped reinforce why this fund must be prioritized, and why Pennsylvania deserves strong federal support.\u201d\n\nThe Rural Health Transformation Fund is intended to help states strengthen rural healthcare systems expand access to care support workforce recruitment and retention and invest in innovative delivery models. Pennsylvania\u2019s $193 million allocation will support state-driven strategies tailored to the needs of rural and underserved communities.\n\nRep.
