Earl L. \u201cBuddy\u201d Carter\u2019s (R-GA) Greater Access to Telehealth Act that will expand access to telehealth services.\n\n\u201cAs a pharmacist who grew up in South Georgia, I know first-hand how difficult access to health care can be for rural Americans,\u201d said Rep. Carter. \u201cThe expansion of telehealth during COVID-19 highlighted how virtual care can provide quality medical services in GA-01 and across the country. I am glad that the House approved my provisions to increase health care accessibility, but we must go further and do more.\u201d\n\nThese provisions include:\n\n- Increased range of locations from which a beneficiary may receive telehealth services by removing geographic restrictions and expanding originating sites.\n\n- Expanded telehealth services offered by qualified physicians and practitioners.\n\n- Medicare reimbursement of telehealth services provided by physicians and practitioners working for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Rural Health Centers (RHCs).\n\n- Mental health services furnished through telehealth for up to six months without an in-person meeting.\n\n- Audio-only telehealth services to ensure seniors and rural patients who may not have internet connectivity can receive the care they need.\n\n- Expanded access to telehealth services for recertification of hospice care eligibility during an emergency period.\n\nRead the text of the bill here.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T02:49:02Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://buddycarter.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=10475"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7903492078185081, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
