Earl L. \u201cBuddy\u201d Carter (R-GA) spoke in favor of his bill, the Never Again Education Reauthorization Act, which passed the House of Representatives today and reauthorizes a program that provides funding and resources for schools to properly educate students about the horrors of the Holocaust.\n\nWatch Rep. Carter\u2019s full remarks, as prepared for delivery, in favor of the bill:\n\n\u201cMr. Speaker, I rise today in strong support of Senate Bill 3448, the Never Again Education Reauthorization Act.\n\n\u201cI am proud to lead this important bipartisan bill with Senator Rosen, and I thank her for her work.\n\n\u201cThe bill before us today reauthorizes the United States Holocaust Museum\u2019s program to disseminate Holocaust education resources through Fiscal Year 2030.\n\n\u201cSince the horrific attacks of October 7th, 2023, pervasive discrimination and bias against Jews has been on full display.\n\n\u201cThe Anti-Defamation League reports more than 10,000 incidents of antisemitism in the United States between October 2023 and September of 2024.\n\n\u201cThis is hateful, disgusting, and despicable.\n\n\u201cNowhere is this more visible than on college and university campuses, where there was a staggering 321 percent increase of antisemitic incidents in just one year.\n\n\u201cDuring that time, the American people watched antisemitic mobs rule over so-called elite universities, including Columbia University, Harvard University, George Washington University, and many, many more.\n\n\u201cNot only were these demonstrations morally reprehensible, but they also incited violence against Jewish students and staff.\n\n\u201cYet, as these mobs raged on campuses, the American people witnessed three Ivy League presidents refuse to unequivocally state that calling for the genocide of Jews would violate their institutions\u2019 codes of conduct.\n\n\u201cThink about the example that set for today\u2019s college students. Three adults, in a position of power, believed calling for the genocide of Jews would be in line with their school policies.\n\n\u201cJewish students deserve better.\n\n\u201cWe must speak out against hate and educate our students on the history of antisemitism to ensure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never repeated.\n\n\u201cYou\u2019ve heard the saying \u2013 those who don\u2019t know their history are bound to repeat it.\n\n\u201cWe must set a better example than that for our children, and the recent pro-Hamas demonstrations happening at colleges and high schools across the nation are proof of that.\n\n\u201cNo one, no one should be discriminated against because of their faith, or their culture, or their heritage.
