(Dec. 9, 2020) \u2013 Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted against a measure to temporarily fund the government until Friday, December 18. Congress previously passed a short-term funding measure on September 22 after failing to fully fund the government for fiscal year 2021. Rep. Burchett released the following statement regarding his vote:\n\n\"Nine months wasn't enough time for appropriators to figure out how to fund the government back in September so they went with a continuing resolution, and here we are three months later with the same result. This is getting ridiculous and the worst part is we will pass a third temporary funding measure next week. Congress needs to fulfill its Constitutional duty and pass an actual budget for fiscal year 2022 so we avoid this disastrous process next year.\"", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-06-28T00:42:23Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://burchett.house.gov/media/press-releases/burchett-votes-against-one-week-government-funding-measure-getting-ridiculous"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.284980146214366, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
