(05/20/2026) -- Today, Congressman Tim Burchett\u2019s (TN-02) bill, the Duplication Scoring Act, passed the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. This bill will require the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to review bills reported by committees for potential duplication of existing federal programs. The GAO will also be required to share its findings with the Congressional Budget Office for public release.\n\n\u201cChairman Comer put me in charge of the DOGE Subcommittee to root out waste, and that\u2019s exactly what this bill does,\u201d said Congressman Burchett. \u201cCongress ought to know when we\u2019re voting on duplicative programs before wasting another taxpayer dollar.
