Eric Burlison issued the following statement regarding the Kansas City Chiefs' decision to relocate operations to Kansas:\n\n\"The Kansas City Chiefs have built a proud and lasting legacy in Missouri, anchored by Arrowhead Stadium and generations of loyal fans.\n\nThis is a sad day for Missouri and for free-market capitalism.\n\nCronyism has won the day. It should be illegal to tax citizens and use their money to subsidize privately-owned businesses. NFL owners use leverage aggressively, and the reality is that Kansans will now be forced to foot the bill for a stadium that benefits a multibillion-dollar franchise.\n\nIn the process, many Missouri-based fans are being taken for granted. It is also worth noting that Missouri\u2019s largest cities continue to dwindle under long-standing Democratic control and have repeatedly lost major professional sports franchises.\n\nThat record deserves serious reflection.\n\nThe way forward for Missouri is simple: keep taxes low for all, cut regulations, grow the economy and population\u2014and then the teams will come knocking.\"\n\n###", 1, "2026-04-04T05:28:40Z", "2026-04-04T05:30:10Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://burlison.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-burlison-issues-statement-chiefs-move-kansas"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.7755909357219934, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
