Below are several stories about her new role:\nNBC Chicago:\nAfter being elected to a leadership role in the House Democratic Caucus Monday, Rep. Cheri Bustos is primed to shape outreach and communications efforts for a party that suffered a series of pivotal losses in November\u2019s election.\nBustos was tapped to co-chair the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee after winning every county in her downstate swing district last month.\u201d\n\u2026\nBustos stressed the importance of continuing to incorporate jobs and the economy into Democratic messaging and outreach, encouraging members of her party to talk about those issues \u201cin a way people understand.\u201d\n\u2026\n\u201cI can\u2019t predict exactly what\u2019s going to happen under the Trump Administration, but I do know this, we have to continue talking to working families,\u201d Bustos said. \u201cWe have to continue to talk about our solutions, and we\u2019ve got great ones.\u201d\nQuad-City Times:\nAnd as Democrats across the country try to figure out what went wrong on Election Day, one of the questions they\u2019re asking is how to appeal again to rural and small-town voters. \nIt appears Bustos, in particular, will be a key voice on that.\nDispatch Argus:\nOn Tuesday, Rep. Bustos said Democrats must talk about what they are doing to make things better for working families.\n\u201cWe\u2019ve got to talk about jobs and the economy,\u201d she said.\u00a0That includes equal pay for equal work, Rep. Bustos said, and providing tax incentives to companies that keep jobs in the U.S. and denying them to companies that would move them out.\nNPR Morning Edition:\nBustos: \u201cYou know, we\u2019ve got to make this about families and working families. That is my family\u2019s background. I come from a long line of farmers. I\u2019m a granddaughter of a hog farmer. My father-in-law\u2019s a UAW retiree, built combines at \u2013 for John Deere. And we\u2019ve got to be able to relate to those people. How you do it? You talk to them. You listen. You know, I\u2019m a former newspaper reporter. It\u2019s what I did for 17 years. And, you know, what do you do as a good reporter?
