In her remarks, Bustos highlights the three steps they are taking to move from a tax bill to cutting Medicare and Social Security.\nBelow is the text of her remarks:\n\u00a0\nYou\u2019ve been hearing a lot about this tax plan, but really it\u2019s a tax scam.\nIt\u2019s not a mistake that Congressional Republicans are going after hardworking middle-class families, in fact, it is an intentional attack against them.\nLet me explain briefly.\nThey have laid out a simple three step process \u2013 here they are.\nStep one: Pass a tax scam that they know will raise taxes on millions of middle-class families in order to give tax cuts to corporate special interests and billionaires.\nThat alone will saddle our children with more than a trillion dollars in new debt.\nStep two: Flip out about this new debt.\nStep three: Then demand cuts to Social Security and Medicare.\nFor months, Congressional Republicans have denied that this is what they are doing.\nWell, let me tell you what happened last week.\nSpeaker Ryan, and I quote, said this, word for word: \u201cWe\u2019re going to have to get back next year at entitlement reform, which is how you tackle the debt and the deficit.\u201d\nHe says that \u201centitlements\u201d are what he\u2019s going to go after.\nWell you know what entitlements are?
