Butterfield (NC-01) released the following statement in recognition of the 2016 holiday season:\nDear Friends,\nAs 2016 draws to a close, let us use this time to reflect on our accomplishments and set new goals for the year ahead.\nThis has been a particularly challenging year for many of our friends and neighbors. The historic flooding and devastation that resulted from Hurricane Matthew means we must all stay the course toward recovery and recommit to helping one another.\nThis year has seen much change in our state and nation. I want you to know that I remain committed to working with all my colleagues to pursue commonsense solutions to our the most pressing issues impacting our communities; from fighting for a living wage to protecting access to affordable healthcare for those who need it the most.
