Carey Announces $6 Million for Madison County", "2023-07-19", "2023", "2023-07", "Republican", "House", "OH", "Mike Carey", "C001126", "carey.house.gov", "carey", "https://carey.house.gov/press-releases/", "scraper", "Washington, DC \u2013 Today, Congressman Mike Carey (R-OH) announced his office had successfully secured $6 million in grants for Madison County, Ohio through the appropriations process.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m proud to represent Madison County within the U.S. House of Representatives,\u201d said Congressman Carey. \u201cThese investments will support projects vital to making Madison County an even better place to work, live, and raise a family.\u201d\n\nOf the sum, $5 million will go to the London Police Department for a new law enforcement facility.\n\n\u201cWe are very excited to hear of the award for the public safety facility and very much appreciate Rep. Carey and his staff\u2019s work in procuring the funding,\u201d said London Police Division Greg Nicol. \u201cThere are many intangibles that are greatly impacted with this type of investment in the agency, such as recruitment and retention, the safety of members and the public, as well as increased efficiency in operations to name just a few.\u201d\n\nLondon Mayor Patrick Closser said the grant would help update the city\u2019s infrastructure to account for population growth over the past decade.\n\n\u201cOn behalf of the city of London I would like to thank the United States Congress and especially Representative Mike Carey for their continued support of the city of London, Ohio,\u201d said Mayor Closser. \u201cAs we navigate through the growth of our fine city, infrastructure needs are a priority and it is great to know that we have tremendous support from Rep. Carey.\u201d\n\nA further $ 1 million is slated for the Madison County Lafayette Waterline extension project.
