I can\u2019t think of a better leader to help achieve these goals.\u201d\n\nSims previously served as District Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Congressman Andr\u00e9 Carson, where she directed all office and legislative operations, served as a liaison to the community, and worked to implement policy priorities. Throughout her tenure, she worked to help the Congressman bring millions of dollars in federal grant and community project funding to Indianapolis organizations and led the local implementation of transformational legislation \u2013 including pandemic relief funds through the CARES Act and American Rescue Plan, historic infrastructure investments through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the expansion of veteran benefits through the PACT Act.\n\nSims assumes the position of Chief of Staff after Kim Rudolph served 13 years in the role, and 27 years total with the House of Representatives. \u201cKim was an incredible Chief of Staff and remains a trusted mentor, coach, educator, and leader,\u201d said Congressman Carson. \u201cShe comes from a legacy of great American pioneers, and her tutelage ensures we will not miss a step in this transition. I remain grateful for her years of service to our city, state, and country.\u201d\u2019\n\nSims also serves on the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership board, which aims to increase affordable housing for Indianapolis residents. Prior to joining Congressman Carson\u2019s office, Sims served in various levels of government and politics.
