Truman, the United States was the first country in the world to recognize the State of Israel in the spring of 1948. \u00a0Since then, our two nations have shared a special relationship rooted in shared values and interests. \u00a0The Obama Administration\u2019s refusal to reject an anti-Israel resolution at the United Nations will not destroy our alliance. \u00a0It will only further stain an already shameful foreign policy legacy. \u00a0Thankfully, the incoming Trump Administration has signaled it is willing to do everything within its power to repair this critical friendship as soon as possible.\u201d\r\nRep.
