These mobile trailers can be moved to wherever they are needed, helping deputies stay connected without the cost of building permanent communications infrastructure. The investment is also expected to save the department approximately $140,000 in annual communications costs.\n\n\"I am incredibly proud to be fighting to deliver $1 million to the Cochise County Sheriff\u2019s Department,\" said Rep. Ciscomani. \"Our local law enforcement officers deserve the tools and resources necessary to carry out their mission and keep our communities safe. This targeted investment will improve communications for drone operations, search-and-rescue command and control, and high-definition video surveillance, helping our officers better serve the people of Cochise County. We appreciate his efforts to make this investment a reality for our local law enforcement and the people we serve,\" said Sheriff Mark Dannels.\n\nPrior to his visit to the department, Representative Ciscomani also watched an ATF K-9 demonstration in recognition of National Dog Day which highlighted the vital work K-9 teams in Arizona do to assist federal and local law enforcement and help keep communities safe.\n\nAs the only member of Arizona\u2019s congressional delegation serving on the House Appropriations Committee, Representative Ciscomani has made securing federal investments for Arizona\u2019s 6th Congressional District a priority.
