This would be the first direct federal funding for either project.\n\nSee the included Louisiana projects here.\n\nCongressman Higgins issued the following statement:\n\n\u201cWhile I have significant concerns about the overall content and Green New Deal mandates in this bill, the inclusion of $20 million for the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge and the I-49 Lafayette Connector is a win. These initial federal funds will help move both projects toward construction and would be the first direct federal investment in either project. My office will continue to prioritize South Louisiana\u2019s infrastructure and economic development needs, using every available legislative tool.
