This has been a top priority for Lafayette leaders, and our office has worked closely with them to advance this project at the federal level.\u201d\n\nEarlier this week, Congressman Higgins announced that the House Energy and Water spending bill included his requests for the Southwest Coastal Louisiana hurricane protection project and the Port of Iberia.
