The U.S. House of Representatives is working to bring all 12 appropriations bills up for consideration in the coming weeks.\n\nIf enacted, the bills would provide:\n\n$3,000,000 to the Port of Lake Charles for the modernization of the facility\u2019s cargo handling infrastructure.\n\n$1,750,000 to Lafayette Utilities Service for expediting the city\u2019s galvanized water line replacement program.\n\n$3,000,000 to West Calcasieu Port for a three-phase project that will update the port\u2019s infrastructure to better support marine transportation.\n\n$1,500,000 to Lafayette Regional Airport for the demolition and reconstruction of Taxiway B to improve its sustainability and rideability.\n\n$700,000 to Lake Charles Regional Airport for traffic improvements in front of the passenger terminal.\n\n$7,911,000 to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for operations and maintenance on the Mermentau River, including $500,000 for Schooner Bayou.\n\n$3,275,000 to LSU-Eunice to transform the original science building on campus into a Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics Innovation Center.\n\n$1,000,000 to the City of Jennings to improve traffic flow and increase safety in front of the airport at the LA 26 and Frontage Road intersection.\n\n$1,750,000 to St. Mary Parish for rehabilitation and upkeep of sewer lift stations in the towns of Patterson and Baldwin.\n\n$2,3000,000 to Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District for improvements and enhancements to the port\u2019s Emergency Operations Center.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T00:18:03Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://clayhiggins.house.gov/2023/07/24/higgins-secures-2686m-annual-appropriations-louisiana-projects/"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9884871542453766, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
