That is unacceptable. This bill to make an assault on a law enforcement officer by a criminal alien a deportable offense is a good step toward helping to protect those who protect us.\u201d\n\nThe POLICE Act of 2023 (H.R. 2494)\n\nAmends the Immigration and Nationality Act to explicitly state that assaulting a law enforcement officer is a deportable offense\n\nTo qualify as a deportable offense, the offense must be committed:\n\nWhile the law enforcement officer is performing official duties;\n\nBecause of the performance of his/her official duties;\n\nOr because of his/her status as a law enforcement officer\n\nRead a one-pager of the bill here.\n\nCongressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia.
