Ben Cline (R-VA) released the following statement on the passage of his bill, the Ensuring Accountability in Agency Rulemaking Act (H.R. 357), out of the House Committee on the Judiciary:\n\n\u201cToo many costly regulations are improperly initiated and issued by unelected career bureaucrats, rather than an individual appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate,\u201d said Cline. \u201cThat is unacceptable. Today, my legislation passed out of the House Committee on the Judiciary, which ensures federal regulations are made by officials who are accountable to Congress and to the American people.\u201d\n\nEnsuring Accountability in Agency Rulemaking Act (H.R. 357)\n\nThe Ensuring Accountability in Agency Rulemaking Act would require all rules proposed by federal agencies, except in limited circumstances, to be signed and issued by an individual appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate.\n\nRead the full bill text here.\n\nCongressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia.
