The CR ultimately passed the House this afternoon by a vote of 341-82.\n\n\u201cAs expected, Washington reverted back to its favorite playbook: kicking the can of government funding down the road to buy lawmakers more time to prepare a bloated Christmas omnibus,\u201d said Clyde. \u201cYet Americans deserve better than the Swamp\u2019s status quo stop-gap spending bill. House Republicans should have used our leverage to send the funding battle into \u2014 hopefully \u2014 Republican territory and to ensure only Americans vote in our elections, which is why I supported the 6-month CR + SAVE Act. While I\u2019m certainly disappointed that we ended up with business as usual, I look forward to combating the Uniparty\u2019s runaway spending and harmful policies when the funding fight resumes. After all, Northeast Georgians sent me to Congress to champion fiscal responsibility and to fix Washington\u2019s broken system.\u201d\n\nBackground\n\nLast week, Rep. Clyde voted for H.R. 9494, a 6-month CR that included the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.
