Reports indicate several areas of north and southShelby Countysustained structural damage while at least 26,000homeswere without electricity. The storm struck just after 6:30 a.m. local time.\n\nCongressman Cohen made the following statement:\n\nI am asking for an assessment ofthedamage so that federal disaster relief is swiftly made available,if permitted,to those who need it. This was a serious storm and I'm grateful that, at this point, no serious injuries or fatalities have been reported.
