The articles, to be debated later this week in the Judiciary Committee, charge the President with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.\nCongressman Cohen made the following statement:\nWhen I was sworn in as a Member of Congress, I accepted thesolemn duty of defending the Constitution. Inupholding my oath, I am compelled to support President Trump's impeachment.Trump has repeatedly placed hispersonal politicalinterests above thenationalinterests he swore to preserve, protect and defend.The President asked the president of Ukraine to get involved in next year's American elections for Trump's benefit,robbing Americans of a fair election independent of foreign influence.He then tried to cover it up by repeatedly defying Congressional oversight. Throughout our history, bravemen and womenfought -- and died -- for the right to vote.This impeachment is aboutpatriotism and duty, not politics.
