In addition, the Ardmore Industrial Airpark will receive $700,000 to rehabilitate the surface of the long runway and upgrade the lighting on the taxiway at the Ardmore Airpark.\n\n\"I am delighted to hear that the U.S. Department of Transportation has selected two key air transportation projects in Oklahoma's Fourth Congressional District to receive nearly $2.5 million in grant funding,\" said Cole. \"The Ardmore Industrial Airpark and Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport are critical air infrastructure installations in South Central Oklahoma. By supporting safety and visibility improvements, these awards will help attract more aircraft to the area and ultimately strengthen and potentially grow the surrounding communities.\"\n\n\"We are very pleased to receive the Department of Transportation discretionary grant for the Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport. The City of Ardmore has worked with our Airport Advisory Board for many years to try to prioritize and provide funding for small improvements as funding for the projects became available. This project would not be considered a small improvement by us. The work included in this DOT grant will allow us to enhance the other work that is currently underway due to funding we received from the FAA and OAC. The grant funding will make a huge difference for the safety of the local pilots and those who fly in to visit Ardmore. Having a high-quality local airport is a key asset in any growing community.
